Those of us who opted for the excursion along the Blue Ridge Parkway following the Conference's conclusion, enjoyed splendid autumn weather, stopping at several vistas along the way. At Mabry Mill we saw apple butter being made, listened to storytellers and musicians, and watched the water-powered mill in action. Some of us, with room left in their carry-ons, bought cornmeal and other goods produced by the mill.
At 5 PM we arrived at the Château Morisette, just as a jazz festival was coming to an end. We tasted some half-dozen of the Château's vintages and enjoyed a delightful supper. A good time was had by all.
